How just silly. Sexuality (whatever that is) is consistent regardless of religion or creed. The only choice when it comes to sexuality is to be honest about "what is" or lie about it to others. Either way, since God created everyone as they are, God knows your deal. If people (including your own family) abandon you, it's their shortcoming in the eyes of God, not yours.

We have had ice houses in Britain for hundreds of years my friends is 400 years old a brick circular building underground with a hatch for loading with snow and ice. Its big probably 18 tons capacity which would provide ice all through the summer!

I was raised Amish,we had bikes,phones,and many more things that other Amish settlements didn't agree on having. Not all Amish settlements are the same.🙂

I've seen many Amish that have old style RV refrigerators sitting on the back porch. Unlike modern RV refrigerators, the old style don't use 12 volt to power it. It uses a thermocouple valve to maintain the propane flow.

i am a seamstress so i was looking up amish style dresses and the case literally popped up in google images, i was shocked and tried so hard not to cry too hard. it never left my mind but i never tht to look it up again. thanks for the update!! My grandmother left the amish community in her 20s and was shunned. My mom did not get along with her. Then, shunned me for not wanting to go to regular church as a teen. Now my children shun me. It had a lot to do with the twisted beliefs - passed down to us. How children are treated, especially. Shunning effects many generations to come. They need to realize that. God says to be patient with the failibgs of the weak, not reject and stop loving them. Or treat them as tho tbey have no worth. This is what they do. It causes a lot of damage.

I know a lot of what you covered due to my own research, and reference the Amish for where we are going as a whole species. I see Amish whipping out cell phones regularly and take it as a serious warning sign for where we are all going as a whole. I've also seen the extremism of the Amish where my car was most definitely not welcome, dozens of people walking around everywhere not just on the road, but even on the gravel and dirt road, plenty were going barefoot! *What keeps me most curious is what will happen to the various sects of Ana Baptists when technology overruns them in another 100 years.* TBH, I greatly suspect even the Amish will have a huge shift in direction due to the path of our species as a whole.

As I understand it, the Amish are very much traditional in their ways and lifestyles being very much old fashioned, no electricity, no modern convoences of any type, they work hard and live entirely different and are extremly religeous sticking close to Bible principles, etc. The Mennonites are almost the same yet a bit different to the fact that they do indeed drive cars, and have electricity and have modern conviences within their lifestyles. They do look exactly like the Amish in many ways, manny manners, however as written, they will conform to and use more modern convoences the Amish refuse to do based on their strict Biblical beliefs.

Real Amish don't allow themselves to be photographed, including videos and online interviews.

As a mainstream Mennonite, I appreciate that he doesn't lump Amish and Mennonites together. However, he does say things like "some Mennonites live this way....." which still muddles things. The better way to explain it is that the Amish broke away from Mennonites 400 years ago as a separate sect entirely. But they still call themselves Mennonite as a religion. Therefore, Amish are Mennonites, but most Mennonites are not Amish. If you walk up to a mainstream Mennonite and ask why they aren't wearing a hat or in a buggy, you're gonna get a dirty look.

I made the mistake of starting this video when one of my cats decided he was ready for his lunch leftovers that he had only eaten half of earlier. So you'll see a lot of rewinding as I kept missing bits and pieces of what Marlene was saying 😂 It's really neat stuff. I'll be looking for the magazine.

I know a lot of Amish don't even have social security cards you can't be taxed without it. I know none Amish don't have social security cards as well. Social security card is federal property it says it right on the card so you're being charged for using Federal property .

I've always made seed bombs by impregnating flat clay squares with seeds, and then drying them in the sun. I never considered using paper, but it's a great idea - especially for encouraging newcomers. Unless one is already crafty, one isn't likely to just have clay lying around the house, but anyone can pulp up some paper that would have gone into the recycling! I wonder if the issue Marlene mentioned (with the seeds falling off the paper) could be avoided by laying down one layer of paper, sprinkling with seeds, and then laying another thin paper layer over top. I imagine the pulp would fuse together as it dries, making a sort of envelope. I'll have to try it out this autumn!

I live about 45 minutes from an Amish community and I enjoy visiting their community and learning about their ways. However, I think many peoples have romanticized them. They're not all wonderful, hard working people. They're human just like the rest of us.
